I bought this item for use on the shooting range. It has a zoom of 15x to 45x. The 15x works great, but you can tell you get what you pay for when you try to use the zoom. The clarity and quality of the zoom isn't that great. However, at the 15x, which is plenty for a shooting range, it works great. You can get away with zooming up to 30x, but beyond that the quality isn't great unless its a really sunny bright day. For the price though, you can't really beat it (plus it has free shipping). If I wanted to do some serious long distance viewing I would consider paying more....
